Single Quadrupole LC-MS

Shimadzu Single Quad LC-MS has been designed keeping in mind ‘ease of use’ as an LC detector in all aspects of design, instrument control, and analysis data. As with other LC detectors, LCMS- 2050 can be integrated into any Shimadzu LC architecture, whether it is a high throughput analytical system, a preparative LC with fraction collection, or even a legacy model. And it as simple to use as other LC detectors. Only the simplest of acquisition parameters are required to obtain reliable and sensitive detection. The LCMS-2050 is compact, provides high speed and high sensitivity over a wide mass range. It is ideal for routine monitoring of reactions during process development, impurity analysis and serves as a very useful tool for ‘mass-directed purification’ using Prep LC workflows.

Gas Chromatography MS

Shimadzu offers a comprehensive suite of GC-MS systems for every application, from triple quadrupole GC-MS/MS (GCMS-TQ8040 NX and GCMS-TQ8050 NX) to single quadrupole GC- MS (GCMS-QP2020 NX and GCMS-QP2050), as well as a variety of accessories and software to enhance GC-MS analysis. Built on the much-acclaimed UFMS (Ultra Fast Mass Spectrometry) platform, these GC-MS systems provide superior performance, enhanced sensitivity, durable hardware, and reliable operation for all applications. The systems are hyphenated with the Shimadzu Nexis GC-2030 industry standard GCs and come with a wide variety of options including the revolutionary HS-20 headspace sampler that expands the scope of analysis on volatile compounds. With scan speeds as high as 20,000 u/second and 800 MRM transitions offered on the GC-MS/MS, the systems are ideal for the analysis of variety of compounds at sensitivity levels unheard of previously.

MALDI-TOF

MALDI-TOF (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight) Mass Spectrometry measures the mass of molecules from a sample that has been embedded in a matrix by using a laser to ablate and desorb the molecules with minimal fragmentation. It is widely used in identification and characterization of higher molecular weight compounds (e.g.: proteins, peptides and synthetic polymers). Shimadzu offers both benchtop, compact model (Linear- TOF) as well one suited for high-end (MALDI TOF/TOF) research applications on proteins, polymers etc.

Q-TOF / Imaging Mass Spectrometry

Shimadzu Quadrupole Time-of-Flight (QTOF) mass spectrometer system has been designed with technologies developed for LC-MS series models resulting in highest mass accuracy and stability. Shimadzu’s proprietary high precision temperature control system inhibits even tiny mass variations caused by external factors, so that the system can be used to measure accurate mass values without worrying about mass calibration. The stable positive/negative high-speed polarity switching technology enables the simultaneous analysis of positive ions/negative ions, offering unique capability for high-confidence identification of challenging compounds and high-throughput screening of multiple unknowns.

iMScope QT is Shimadzu’s flagship model for MS imaging with a LC-MS QTOF. Combined analysis is enabled through fusion of MS images with optical microscope observations, providing both distribution information and quantitative analysis.

LC-MS Software

LabSolutions Insight is software for GC-MS(/MS) and LC-MS(/MS) systems that enables simpler and more efficient analysis of data from multiple analytes. Large quantities of high-quality mass spectrometry data acquired 24 x 7 from high-speed LC-MS and GC-MS systems are handled with great efficiency using LabSolutions Insight. The software features intuitive user interface, handles multiple samples with multiple monitors, MS/MS libraries & reliable compound identification, complete support for data integrity and clear audit trails. Optional software for LabSolutions Insight, Peakintelligence is a world-first algorithm incorporating AI assistance to search for chromatography peaks. Having learnt peak processing skills from experienced users, the AI can process data with the same skill level. The algorithm can be implemented immediately without adjusting any parameters and reduce wrong detection by 1/3 compared conventional algorithm with default setting.

Method Packages

Method Packages contain ready-to-use analytical conditions and sample pretreatment procedures optimized for Shimadzu mass spectrometers and specific analytical applications.
