Onyx PCX

Onyx PCX Spincotech

Post-Column Derivatization for high sensitivity in HPLC

Onyx PCX is the next generation HPLC post-column derivatization system enabling highly selective detection coupled with high sensitivity. Electronic syringe pump delivers true pulse-free flow of the reagent for derivatization, in the range 50 to 1500 uL/min (programmable) with an operating maximum pressure of 500 psi (35 bar). The pump is also equipped with automatic piston wash and automatic reagent flush cycle. Heated coil facilitates reaction of the column eluents with the reagent to increase the sensitivity. The reactor coil temperature range holds within 1°C resolution from 5 °C above ambient room temperature to 130 °C maximum setpoint. The system features a column oven with circulating air for consistency of heating/cooling within 1 Deg C setpoint. The oven accepts 6- or 8-mm OD x 50 -250 mm length columns and holds within +/- 1 Deg C resolution from 5 Deg C above ambient to 75 Deg C . Column oven temperature gradient programming improves separation and optimizes run times.

The entire flow path is inert, protected from metal contamination and the colour LCD display provides for continuous monitoring and critical message alerts. Onyx PCX software runs on Windows PC and stores all methods/sequences, besides maintaining log files that continuously collect data from system status to error messages.

Onyx PCX is optimized for the analysis of amino acids, carbamates, glyphosate, mycotoxins, antibiotics and is suitable for any analyte that is amenable for reaction with a suitable reagent for enhanced sensitivity using UV-Vis or Fluorescence detection. Only Pickering Laboratories offers complete packagge including buffers, columns, validated methods and robust post-column systems.
