HS-20 NX Series

HS-20 NX Series Spincotech

Next-Generation Headspace Sampler for GC / GC-MS

The HS-20 NX is best suited for analysis of residual solvents in pharmaceuticals as per USP <467>, high sensitivity analysis of volatile aroma compounds in spices, foods, rapid analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in water extractables & leachables in packages etc. The system uses the isolation gas flow to reduce carryover to 1/10 of conventional models, enabling accurate analyses of high-boiling point compounds & high-polar compounds. With a tray for easy access, up to 12 vials can be kept warm in the HS oven, increasing laboratory productivity. High analysis reproducibility is achieved by the vial loading from the lower part of the oven. Shimadzu’s unique sample vial delivery system minimizes heat dissipation as the vial enters and leaves the oven, maintaining high temperature stability. The vial oven and sample line can be set to 300°C while the transfer line can be set to 350°C.

  • Excellent Reproducibility

Residual Solvents Analysis in Pharmaceuticals, USP

The HS-20 NX transfer line is the shortest in the market, by directly connecting to the column using a standard inlet connection. With the trap mode of the HS-20 NX trap model, 10 – 100 times more sensitive analysis can be achieved than with the loop mode. The Trap model includes an electronic cooling trap that can be cooled down to -20 °C or less and it is possible to concentrate and analyze compounds over a wide boiling range. The HS-20 NX trap model also operates in the loop mode, giving users high flexibility. Software from other vendor chromatography data systems can also take advantage of the advanced features of HS-20 NX through control drivers.
