Amino Acid Analysis System

Amino Acid Analysis System Spincotech
Gel Permeation Chromatograph

The Nexera Amino Acid Analysis System uses detection by post-column fluorescence derivatization, with o-phthalaldehyde (OPA)/N-acetylcysteine as the reaction reagents, to selectively and sensitively quantitate the amino acids in complex matrices. The system integrates high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with high sensitivity fluorescence detectors and specialized consumables. The instrument also boasts of superb injection precision over a wide range of volumes and a unique design that ensures reliable sample cooling.

Selective Detection of Amino Acids

After amino acids are separated by cation exchange chromatography, aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution (to convert prolines, and so on, to primary amines) and OPA/N-acetylcysteine reagent are added consecutively to the column eluant, and the resulting fluorescent derivatives are detected.

Proven Configuration for Amino Acid analysis

Two models are available – an “Na” model, capable of rapidly analysing amino acids hydrolysed from protein, and an “Li” model, capable of separating free amino acids.

The mobile phase and reaction reagent used in this system are available as a special reagent kit that can be used immediately after opening. The kits ensure separation repeatability and precise quantitative analysis of the amino acids.
