Protein Sequencing

Shimadzu – Spinco proudly cherish the huge success of the ‘PPSQ Protein Sequencer’ in India for many decades. PPSQ which has been the gold standard among protein researchers working on N-Terminal Sequencing, determines the amino acid sequences of proteins and peptides, through a combination of Edman reaction with a high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC). In the Edman reaction, amino acids are cleaved in order from the N-terminal of a protein by repeatedly performing Edman degradation, and are derivatized with specific reagents. As a result, stable PTH-amino acids are produced which are subsequently analyzed online by HPLC to determine the amino acid sequence.
With guaranteed N-Terminal sequence data and no sample pretreatment requirements, the technology is the proven platform for amino acid sequence determination.
