The Flow-RAM has only an ON/OFF switch so that users cannot accidentally change any of the settings as against the manual based systems in which the PMT voltage setting and upper level discriminator are set by control knobs. The Flow-RAM has only a single USB connection between the instrument and the PC and provides power, HV, instrument control and data collection. The built-in Analogue-to-Digital Converter converts analog signals from other detectors such as UV, ECD etc. into digital for use with Laura for PET software. In areas where the background radiation is of concern, custom lead shield which is made of five parts with thickness of 1, 2, or 3’’ can be supplied
Digital setting of the parameters such as High Voltage, Upper Level Discriminator, Lower Level Discriminator and selection of the radionuclide is done through the Laura software, thus enabling a direct control. Laura software allows customers to perform half-life correction and controls many of the world’s leading HPLC systems to provide a single-point control and further includes many features that enable a seamless operation : half-life correction, automatic peak finder, document management system, unique summary table function for data comparison, GLP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance option, powerful reporting and analysis tools.
